2020 fundraising reaches over £2,800 – THANK YOU

Our profits from 2020 have reached over £2,800 bringing our all time profits up to £25,400 since 2009. It's been a very strange year, spending three quarters of it in a pandemic, but that hasn’t stopped you all from supporting us by buying badges!

As with Guiding across the country, we were sad to have to stop our usual meetings in March but the majority of our District units have gone virtual and continue to offer Guiding to the girls in the area. However our usual adventures of camps, holidays and other such things have all had to stop so we have spent very little of our profits this year. The big camp we had been saving for, the WINGS 2020 international camp, was initially postponed to 2021 and sadly, just this last month was announced as cancelled. As a District we are now making plans for a District camp for all sections just as soon as the current situation allows and profits from the website will be used to subsidise this and ensure every girl can enjoy the great outdoors and have an adventure.

As always, the District would like to say a huge THANK YOU to you all for your continued support, whether you are an avid badge collector wanting something different for your collection or a Leader looking for a resource for your unit. Or perhaps you donated badges to us during the year. Each and every one of you has made a difference to Girlguiding Dursley District.
