WINGS 2020 - Cancelled (15/02/2019)

Our attention has now focused on our next big adventure, to WINGS 2020. We started fundraising in 2008 to help our girls attend the international camp, WINGS 2009. In 18 months time we will be attending WINGS 2020, our third WINGS camp. We have kept £1,000 of our fundraising monies in the account to go towards this camp and our fundraising throughout 2019 and 2020 will help us ensure any girl in our District that wants to attend the camp is able to. No doubt there will be a special fundraising badge along the way too!

Update 26/7/19: We have 6 Leaders and 26 Guides/Rangers signed up to attend this fantastic camp. That's a bill of £7,750 plus the coach travel there and back (about £900) to raise. Let's get cracking.

Update 5/1/20: We have now set aside the £1,000 in 2018 plus a further £1,100 in 2019 towards this adventure. In addition, we have been doing local fundraising and applying for grants and have a further £1,800 as well. We're still working hard into 2020 though to raise as much of our camp fees as possible.

Update March 2020: WINGS 2020 has fallen victim to Coronavirus and the camp has been postponed to 2021. The response from our Guides was that we now have more time to fundraise, so fundraise we shall!

​Update November 2020: Sadly we heard this week that the postponed camp has now been cancelled completely. Understandably the girls and Leaders are disappointed. However any funds raised towards this camp will now be put to a District camp once pandemic restrictions allow us to organise one.
