Staged Badges

The staged badges were introduced in the 1990s and were available for Brownies and Guides to complete. There were also a couple of pilot staged badges in 1989 which looked different to the rest. The pilot chess badge came first with nothing to identify it as a Guiding badge at all. The Short Tennis pilot came next and this time it had the 'Girl Guide' text on it. The staged badges became obsolete in 2003 when the Guide and Brownie programme had a massive overhaul.
